A round pen is taking shape
Nadine Welzel · July 18, 2026
Our facilities are growing: alongside the outdoor arena, the indoor school, the gallop track and the trail course, a round pen twelve metres across is currently being built.
What a round pen is for
A circular pen of this size is where horse and handler work close to one another — groundwork, lungeing, the first sessions with a young horse. There are no corners for a horse to back into and no wide open space to pull its attention away. That makes the conversation calmer and clearer than on a full-size arena.
What it means for you
The round pen will be available to all liveries, just like the other facilities. Groundwork, liberty work and loose schooling are expressly permitted here — and the round pen is the right place for them.
Where the work stands
Construction is under way. We will name an opening date only once it is certain. As soon as the pen can be used you will read it here and in the livery portal. Until then you will find the current state of our facilities on the facilities page.
