Samedi Stables

About Us

A place where paths come together — for horses and their people.

“One must meet the horse with understanding rather than force.”
— Antoine de Pluvinel (1555–1620)

The Story

Where Strength Meets Style

Samedi Stables is more than a boarding yard — it is a vision of species-appropriate horse keeping that unites tradition with modern understanding. The name “Samedi” and our crest with its horse, ravens and fleur-de-lis stand for strength, wisdom and elegance.

Our motto “Concordia in varietate” — unity in diversity — is more than a maxim. It describes how we run our yard: different horse breeds, varied riding disciplines and a diverse community all come together here.

Owner Nadine Welzel lives with her family right on the yard. This closeness means every horse is seen several times a day, changes are noticed early and we can act quickly — whether it concerns health, well-being or the social dynamics within the herd.

What Drives Us

Our Values

Respect for the horse comes first at Samedi Stables. Every horse on our yard is part of a community we look after with diligence, attention and genuine appreciation. Our goal: horses that stay healthy, feel secure and remain physically and mentally stable in the long term.

Respect

Respect

Every horse is recognised and respected as an individual. Methods based on pressure, coercion or overstraining have no place in our approach. If a horse is visibly overwhelmed, we seek dialogue — always with the animal's welfare in mind.

Structure

Structure

Clear routines create security — for horses and people alike. From feeding to pasture groups to use of the arena: every routine is well thought out and designed to minimise stress and foster harmony.

Care

Care

Reliability is part of who we are. We live right on the yard, know every horse and its quirks. Regular checks and an open ear for our boarders — these are things you can rely on.

Diversity, Not Uniformity

Open to All Riding Disciplines

At Samedi Stables all riding disciplines are welcome — entirely in the spirit of the motto on our crest: „Concordia in varietate". Whether leisure riding, academic art of riding, working equitation, dressage, western, groundwork or liberty work — what matters is not the style but the attitude behind it.

More Than a Yard

Our Community

Our yard community is open, respectful — and surprisingly good-humoured. People meet here not only to ride, but also to chat, to laugh and to grow together with their horses.

Dogs are welcome, provided they get along with our own dogs. After all, a yard without dogs wouldn't be a proper yard.Dog
